There
are many ways for children birth through fifth grade to
become involved, learn more about Christ, and have fun at
Advent! Everything we do centers around our desire to
help children learn to live a life with and for God… a life
in which they will grow in their knowledge of the Word and
be able to apply it to their own lives. As a result,
we pray that the little ones that come to Advent will grow
in their walk with the Lord, that they will worship Him
alone, and that they will live a life of love and service
towards others.
Children ages three
through five are able to be part of a weekly
age-appropriate lesson while in the nursery each
Sunday. The lesson includes a Bible story, integrated
song/game, and a fun craft. Parents are provided with
a lesson handout
when picking up their child
that lets them know the Biblical truth that was taught
and ways to extend the lesson throughout the week at
home.
Those in kindergarten
through fifth grade are invited to participate in a monthly
Children’s Activity Time (CAT) experience. These
monthly outings are centered around our hope to build
community by having fun together! From finding hidden
eggs at our Easter Egg hunt and family picnic, to playing a
round of mini-golf together… these activities are a great
way to have fun while also getting to know one another
better.
Families are also
encouraged to study the Bible at home with their children
by using the weekly Family Devotion
Guides. These guides include
passages to read throughout the week which center around
the theme or lesson taught during our Sunday worship
time. Discussion questions are also provided with
each passage selection. These guides are a great
way to learn more about God and His great love for us
with your little ones at home!
